Renovation and extension of Grade II* listed Georgian country house

The heritage team at HollandGreen undertook a full renovation of this stunning Grade II* listed home with its beautiful Georgian facade.  As one of the most distinctive properties in the heart of the charming market town of Thame, with its outstanding views over the church and cricket pitch, the challenge for the team was to refurbish this building, for modern family living, whilst being sympathetic to its Late 18th Century historic status.  (Only 5.8% of listed buildings are Grade II* – they are designated particularly important buildings of more than special interest.)

HollandGreen worked closely with the historic buildings team at South Oxfordshire District Council to restore and preserve all the original features (such as fireplaces, sash windows, flagstone floors, wooden shutters) whilst extending the kitchen with a traditional style lantern roof, to create a stunning kitchen/dining/entertaining space.
