Job Scope

HollandGreen is an award-winning, multidisciplinary design practice across Architecture, Landscape Design, and Interior Design. We have developed an incredible portfolio of high-end residential projects in London, Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, and the home counties.

We are looking for an external IT Support expert living local to Thame who will be able to supply prompt remote ad hoc support to our team with daily technical issues as and when they arise.  It may well be required to attend our Thame based studio for a regular weekly (or bi-monthly) basis to offer a ‘Tech Clinic’ for non-urgent tech niggles and upgrades etc.

We also foresee the need for occasional Hardware projects such as setting up laptops and installing software for new employees as well as other ad hoc projects such as cabling, backups, security upgrades etc.

Our hope is to build a longstanding and close relationship with a local IT expert (as opposed to a larger faceless support company) who will learn and understand our systems, team and processes intimately, and as such, even though an external, become a valuable and trusted member of the HG team.

Location – Remote support role – Occasional presence it our Thame Studio Required (approx. once a week)

Remuneration – Self-employed. Hourly rate invoice / Or agreed monthly retainer. To be agreed.

Start Date – ASAP

Roles and Responsibilities

This role would suit somebody who has clear experience in the field, has enthusiasm to learn new skills and likes helping people. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken is necessary.

Duties:

  • Provide first-line technical support to the team in the office, or via Zoom / email to ensure technology-related operations are running smoothly each day.
  • Work with other IT team members to identify and escalate complex technical issues.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on workstations and laptops.

  • Assist with the maintenance and support of the office technology infrastructure, working closely with our IT/Security management team. Help address basic security issues.
  • Manage and maintain IT inventory and team training documentation including our internal Wiki / Knowledge Base
  • Provide training and support to users of the company’s technology systems as needed.
  • Assisting in decisions related to company hardware/leases, including researching options to optimize efficiency and performance.

  • Assist in installing or maintaining network cabling / AV technology when required
  • Support the enforcement of IT policies, including proper use of devices and software.
  • Document technical problems and resolutions to build a knowledge base.
  • Report recurring issues or inefficiencies to IT management for process improvement.
  • Assist the Head of Design Technology and undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required.
