Job Scope
We’re looking for a Senior Project Leader to join our Architectural Studio. The role will be working directly with clients and external consultants to lead the design process from initial concept through to delivery on site. You’ll create bespoke, functional, and beautiful homes grounded in the understanding of how clients live and interact with their environment. You’ll use analytical and methodical design thinking to create meaningful spaces that exceed client expectations. You’ll ensure that every stage of the project runs smoothly, with clear communication and a strong focus on design quality, programme, and budget.
You’ll set the standard for creative vision and client service, and mentor junior team members to develop their skills and confidence. You’ll take responsibility for the management and coordination of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, commercially, and in line with the studio’s values. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and representing HollandGreen with professionalism and integrity at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the design development and technical delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with client briefs, budgets, and timelines.
- Preparing feasibility studies, concept designs, and detailed architectural drawings using ArchiCAD.
- Producing planning and technical packages, including site plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Keep senior management informed of progress and design development and organise design, technical and sustainability reviews as required.
- Creating bespoke technical specifications, collaborating with contractors and suppliers to ensure feasibility. Prepare written specifications and contract documentation, including drafting architects’ instructions and certificates.
- Run relevant internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, take notes and follow up action points using Clickup.
- Oversee the production of 3D visualisations, renders, and sketches to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Manage project teams, making sure all team members are properly briefed and able to complete their tasks. Review drawings/ information produced by other team members before issuing.
- Establish and integrate technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings, including preparation of drawings for planning and building control approval, tender and construction purposes.
- Selecting sustainable materials, finishes, and construction techniques in line with project and environmental goals.
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress, address design issues, and ensure adherence to approved plans. Providing expert guidance during construction to ensure the successful realisation of the design vision.
- Leading project teams with strong communication and problem-solving skills to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Understanding client objectives, advising on project scope, and offering innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Presenting design concepts and progress updates to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams using clear and persuasive communication.
- Coordinating with external consultants (structural engineers, planning authorities, M&E consultants, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of architectural designs.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters, ensuring smooth communication between all parties if a dedicated Project Manager has not been appointed.
- Managing projects from initial feasibility through to completion, ensuring compliance with Design Stages.
- Overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
- Preparing detailed fee proposals and deliverables lists for each project stage.
- Using project management software (e.g., CMAP, ClickUp) to monitor project progress and maintain accountability.
- Working with quantity surveyors and cost consultants to prepare early-stage cost estimates and manage budgets.
Skills & Qualifications
- RIBA Part 3 (or equivalent) and ARB Registration.
- 3+ years following Part III qualification or equivalent experience – including consistent project leadership demonstrating high proficiency with a proven track record of managing projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent ability to work under own initiative, be self-motivated, and take responsibility.
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire junior team members, leading by example and embodying HG company values.
- Flexibility and versatility to work on multiple projects in parallel.
- Strong ability to manage and appraise own working practices and implement improvements to designs and processes.
- Resilient under pressure, able to prioritise tasks, and remain calm and professional when facing conflicting demands.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in ArchiCAD and other design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office).
- Excellent knowledge of industry suppliers, materials, and practices.

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
- Full UK Driving Licence
