The Hide Design Journey a modern corten steel new build overlooking countryside views

Starting your project.

At the beginning of your design journey, it’s important to understand the scope of your project and what this means from a cost and timeline point of view.

How would you describe your project?

landscape design

All or a Combination.

Step 1: Initial Chat

In our first conversation, we’ll discuss the property, garden and your aspirations, together with any timeline or budget considerations.

– 30 minutes video or telephone call
– Free

Step 2: The Home Consultation

Ahead of meeting you at the site, we’ll have carried out some some desktop research on your property details.

– We’ll review local planning context and any constraints
– We’ll discuss realistic timeframes
– If a site visit isn’t possible, we’ll schedule a 1 hour video call
– Free (subject to availability & project scope)

Step 3. Feasibility Study

The Feasibility Study is designed to help you, and us, establish the scale, scope, risks and likely ultimate build costs of your project before embarking on a lengthy and involved design process. The Feasibility Study should ensure that you make informed and fundamental decisions about your project before plunging straight into a design process. This should help prevent potential disappointment further along the design journey if it is only then discovered that the design you have set your heart on is unachievable from either a design, planning or cost perspective.

We see it as an essential exercise that should always be completed before starting a design process.

What’s included:

– A detailed desktop review of your property details
– Site analysis – a basic appraisal to understand the key characteristics of the site
– 1 to 2 hour consultation on site at the property
– Discussion of initial design aspirations- Sketch layout plan for each proposed floor (subject to survey or estate agent drawings being provided, a survey can be arranged with price on request)

We tailor our design fees and services to suit the size and complexity of each project, please contact us for more information.

What comes after Feasibility Study?

You will be ready to engage us, confident in the knowledge that the scope of your project has been fully considered to your initial outline budget established.

We will then set out our fee for the overall completion of the project, which will vary depending on the scope and complexity of the project.

Interior Design

Step 1: Exploring the Brief

The first step in any project is to get to know you. We like to meet in the space and discuss your design vision, spending time defining your style and creative direction. We then create a project brief outlining the deliverables and requirements.

Step 2: Design Vision

With the agreed brief, we work with you to form the vision of the key areas. Deliverables at the end of this stage include mood boards with suggested imagery and 2D sketch layouts of key areas. We then prepare the design vision document for your approval.

Cost:

– This initial early design stage gives you concept design sketches, sketch floor plans and mood boards for 3 rooms or key areas, and we tailor our design fees and services to suit the size and complexity of each project.

Once this stage is complete, you – as well as us – will have a much clearer understanding of your aspirations and the scope and costs across the project journey, together with any foreseen challenges.

What comes after Design Vision?

You will then be able to engage us for the rest of the project journey, and we’ll be able to set out our fee for the overall completion, which will vary depending on scope and complexity.

We’ll be delighted to talk through your individual project – call us on 01844 390 381 for an initial conversation.
