Project Administration

How long does a landscapes project take?

The first stage of a landscape design project revolves around the feasibility study, which takes an average of 2-3 weeks. However, the total length of the rest of the project can vary depending on the scope and specific design. Every garden is unique, and you can expect a project to take anything upwards from two to three months, depending on the size and complexity.

In the initial stages of the project, we would work with you to put a project timeline together – including the HG architectural and interior programmes (if relevant) to make sure the build is holistic and integrated from the very outset (read more on this here). For larger projects, we often phase the works over a period of time to fit with the overall vision for the site and budget.

The sooner you start planning, the better – this allows us to coordinate with the wider team and ensure a smooth journey throughout the design process. It also allows us to ensure the house and garden design are in conversation with each other, thereby creating a seamless connection between inside and out. Ideally, you’d start the garden design process at the same time as the architectural work for the best results.
