Renovation of The Old Watermill
This sensitive renovation to a beautiful former and listed watermill on the borders of Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds is nearing completion, and below we share some recent images as the final stages of the build progress. The original features and details of the period property have been woven sensitively and elegantly with contemporary additions bringing a new chapter to this stunning building. It has been a joy to work on this project.
Full height aluminium glazing and steel stair and balustrading mark contemporary additions, working in harmony with the historic fabric of the building.
The original watermill mechanism, below, is receiving its final restorations and will be an incredible feature in the renovated double-height vaulted living room.
The architect Andrew (seen surveying the entrance hall!) has opened up the living spaces & created double-vaulted height across some rooms.
At HollandGreen, we are passionate about bringing period properties into the twenty first century. That is why our in-house Architects, Interior Designers and Landscaping teams work collaboratively together to create inspirational, insightful designs with an exceptional client experience. As you can imagine, working on graded period properties does present its own set of challenges with regards to conservation and planning, which is why we design spaces that enhance contemporary living, whilst instinctively protecting the sensitive areas to the original property.
