For this contemporary Cotswolds lakeside property, our landscape team designed a series of sophisticated outdoor living spaces centred around a new infinity-edge pool and spa. The design creates a California-inspired atmosphere, blending refined relaxation with a considered approach to the home’s ecologically sensitive setting.
The garden is arranged around a generous timber deck that wraps around the infinity-edge pool, creating a seamless connection between the home and the water. This central space is zoned for multifunctional use, with a covered dining area, a fire pit, and sun loungers providing dedicated areas for socialising and unwinding throughout the day.
A key challenge for this project was its location within a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), where protecting the surrounding ecosystem and its rare aquatic biodiversity was paramount. Our solution was to follow stringent environmental management and construction methods from the outset, ensuring every design decision combined ecological sensitivity with refined aesthetics and modern functionality.
This careful approach extended to the pool itself. To avoid the use of harsh chemicals in the environment, we installed an integrated biological water treatment system. This provides crystal-clear, fresh water quality while protecting the environment, reducing running costs, and promoting personal health.
The result is a versatile and elegant lakeside garden where contemporary design and responsible stewardship exist in perfect balance.
