A Shared Vision For Generational Impact
As part of our commitment to sustainable and ethical design, HollandGreen proudly partners with Woodland Heritage, a charity dedicated to the creation and management of productive woodlands across the UK. Their work promotes carbon sequestration and supports the research into woodland health and biodiversity. They also champion the use of home-grown timber from sustainable, productive woodlands for the benefit of both present and future generations.
At HollandGreen, we are committed to making a positive contribution to carbon capture within the residential property sector. We calculate the carbon used within each of our architectural projects – and then double it. We donate the equivalent funds to support Woodland Heritage’s educational and reforestation initiatives, endorsing the charity’s essential work in creating a productive wood culture for generations to come.
Leaving a legacy for the future is a vision shared by both of our organisations. At HollandGreen, ‘Creating A Lasting Legacy’ is our guiding principle – a mission so bold that it’s the first message you see on our homepage. We aim to design regenerative, energy efficient homes that can be maintained for generations to come. We strive to exceed regulatory energy efficiency requirements to reduce environmental impact, whilst our landscape designs prioritise biodiversity. Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our work – from our designs and Studio operations, to our charitable partnerships – all with the aim of leaving a positive legacy.
Woodland Heritage shares this same vision. The very word ‘heritage’, from the c.1200 Old French term meaning ‘that which may be inherited’, underscores the charity’s belief that inheritance is not guaranteed. They believe that woodland heritage is not the passive act of preserving the past, but instead the active process of shaping the world our future generations will inherit.
