The Grove, Buckinghamshire

Anchored Design

The garden at The Grove in Buckinghamshire is set within the wider woodland that lines the boundary of the property. The setting influences the new garden which blends the lines between the garden and the landscape beyond, harnessing the tranquil, peaceful atmosphere whilst providing areas to socialise, dine and relax.

The garden centres around an existing mature acer, which serves as the focal point for the entire design. Beneath the tree, a shallow water bowl reflects its seasonal colours and textures, forming a central feature of the garden. Informal paths, planting, and terraces are arranged to highlight the tree and the proportions of the space.

A new dining terrace with an elegant, sophisticated outdoor kitchen forms the heartbeat of the garden. The area is paved in weathered natural stone, providing a natural, outdoor living area. Evergreen ferns and ornamental grasses create layered textures and seasonal interest while maintaining structure.

Plant selection throughout ties into the woodland setting, suitable to shaded areas under the tree canopies. Shrubs and perennials are pollinator friendly and support local biodiversity.
