A Garden Retreat For Year-Round Entertaining

Designed as the ultimate destination for entertaining, this versatile garden retreat is a highly functional, multi-purpose outdoor room, adapted for every occasion. Our Landscape team conceived the space as a natural extension of the home, blending sophisticated dining with a luxurious spa experience that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

At the heart of the design is a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, created for effortless al fresco hosting. The challenge was to create a space that felt both social and highly practical. Our solution was to anchor the area with a bespoke 12-seat bar table that encourages relaxed gatherings, supported by a wood-fired pizza oven, gas barbecue and an integrated fridge. Materials were carefully chosen for durability and to ensure the kitchen sits in perfect harmony with the wider garden.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a minimalist timber pergola defines the main relaxation space. A central design challenge was how to incorporate a large spa without it dominating the aesthetic. We resolved this with an innovative automated deck, which retracts at the touch of a button to reveal a stunning 14-seater hot tub. This feature allows the area to maintain a clean, uncluttered feel when the spa is not in use. Above, a striking cantilevered bench appears to float effortlessly, adding a touch of architectural elegance.

To create a complete and self-contained retreat, two private changing rooms and a shower are discreetly incorporated into the design. To ensure the space felt inviting long after sunset and outside of the summer months, the entire area is supported by integrated heating, ambient lighting and a sound system, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for any occasion.
