Ash House – Sustainable new build in Oxfordshire taking shape.

Just a few weeks after our latest update, Ash House is starting to really take shape. The structure of the building is a mixture of steal and timber frame. Using pre-fabricated components has sped up the construction process and allowed the shell of the home to materialise in weeks.

The internal pre-fabricated timber frames are lowered in, for ease of instalment and to not disrupt the external walls.

Offsite construction not only quickens the building process, it also increases accuracy, with prefabricated panels constructed within factory conditions. The insulated panels can be prepared more efficiently in bulk, and once completed, transported to site. With reduced, and more efficient transportation, the process is also better for the environment.

The roof joists and the ridge beam are then installed, making up the skeleton of the roof. The speed of this transformation is due to the construction method, not only prefabricated components speed up the process they also significantly reduce the environmental impact of construction.
